The SUPERWASH treatment makes combed raw wool slivers unshrinkable
L’impianto Superwash rende i nastri pettinati di lana greggia irrestringibili.
Textile products made with SUPERWASH treated wool can be machine washed dozens of times, without getting felted. Furthermore, they have special hand and lustre characteristics depending on the resins applied during the process.
The result is the machine washable wool, very shiny, bright and with an extremely soft hand. The chemical treatment is even more pronounced if compared to the Basolan treatment. It’s followed by neutralisation, washing, treatment with special resins, softening, polymerisation and drying. Anti-fungal, anti-moth, anti-odour substances can be applied to enhance the features and the value of the final product.
Depending on the intended wool final product the most suitable type of the treatment is chosen. The plants are supplied with a special system of suction, neutralisation and exhaust of fumes into the atmosphere designed to avoid atmospheric pollution and to protect workers’ health.
This treatment gives a slight anti-felting and a subtle anti-pilling effect, as well as a soft, fluffy and voluminous hand. The treatment consists of impregnating the material in the padder (foulard) with specific chemical substances. Then the material is stocked for a few minutes and afterwards it undergoes neutralisation, washing and drying in a complete backwashing line.
